The lineup
Each app does one job for Shopify merchants, does it well, and explains itself in plain English. Whittle is in Shopify App Store review. The other three are under construction.
-
Whittle
SEO for Google and AI search
Whittle finds what keeps a store from showing up on Google and in AI shopping answers, then fixes it: search listings, product descriptions, image alt text, structured data, broken links and bloated blogs. It shows the orders that search brings in, and every change it makes can be undone.
- Made for
- Small and growing Shopify stores that want more search traffic without hiring an agency

Packtally
Packaging EPR reports for US brands
A growing list of US states now makes brands report the packaging they ship there each year. Packtally turns a store's real Shopify orders into those reports: which states you owe, where you're exempt, how much of each material went where, and a filing pack ready for the state portal.
- Made for
- Shopify brands shipping into Oregon, Colorado, California and the other packaging EPR states
- Status
- Under construction, opening for the 2027 reporting season

-
Roadcase
Shipping alerts and delivery tracking
Roadcase follows every order from paid to delivered, flags late and stuck packages, lets customers know before they have to ask, and shows where shipping costs leak. Stores that ship through a 3PL get a monthly grade for their warehouse.
- Made for
- Shopify stores shipping hundreds of orders a month, from their own shelves or a 3PL

Keyholder
POS back office for Shopify stores
Keyholder is built for the store work Shopify POS leaves to paper and memory: holds and layaway, staff time clock and commissions, and a daily brief right on the register. Named for the person a shop trusts to open, run the floor and close.
- Made for
- Independent shops on Shopify POS with one to five locations and a small team
- Status
- Under construction

How we build
Tested on a real shop
We run a Shopify store of our own in Nashville, so every app is used on real orders before it reaches yours.
Nothing you can't take back
Our apps ask only for the access they need, keep only the data they use, and anything they change in your store can be undone.
Plain English, real people
Every technical term is explained where it appears, and when you write to support, a person in Nashville reads it.
Who's behind it
Music City Labs is the software studio of Blake Smith, a Nashville founder with a supply chain degree from the University of Tennessee and a career in logistics.
Blake also owns Steel & Saddle, a western wear store and hat bar in Nashville that runs on Shopify. That is where these apps get their first real workout, and where most of their ideas came from.
The studio builds small, focused apps for problems merchants actually have: getting found, staying on the right side of new rules, getting orders to customers on time, and running the shop floor.
